In November 2021, Weihai Huatan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. received good news on overseas projects: the comprehensive service cooperation zone of East Africa Commercial and Logistics Industrial Park was awarded as the provincial overseas economic and trade cooperation zone.
Since its establishment, Weihai Huatan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huatan company") has actively responded to the national "the Belt and Road" initiative and "going global" strategy. Huatan company made use of its own resource advantages in Tanzania to build a comprehensive overseas service platform with functions of trade, logistics and industrial cooperation-the comprehensive service cooperation zone of East Africa Commercial and Logistics Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as "the Cooperation Zone"), so as to promote the development of Sino-African economic and trade.
The Cooperation Zone takes the form of "one zone with multiple parks", which consists of the East Africa Commercial and Logistics Center in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Huatan Overseas Warehouse, Exhibition Center and the Airport bonded logistics park in Zanzibar, Tanzania and a cross-border e-commerce platform. The total planned construction area of this project is 117,700 square meters. Up to now, 37,700 square meters area has completed and put into use. The Cooperation Zone has full-service functions such as commodity trading, exhibition, overseas warehousing, entrepot trade, processing and packaging, logistics supporting, cross-border e-commerce, supply chain finance, investment consulting, and "one-stop" international trading service. It is the distribution center and bridgehead of trade and logistics based in Tanzania, driving East African countries and radiating the whole of Africa. It is also the most convenient channel and forefront window for China enterprises to enter the East African markets.
In November, 2021, the Cooperation Zone successfully passed the provincial assessment, becoming the first approved provincial-level overseas economic and trade cooperation park in Weihai. This marks our further solid step towards the goal of developing a bridge and link of Sino-African economic and trade cooperation zone.
